Preparations are in full swing for the legislative assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The region has added 93,000 new voters, with an upsurge of youths and females on the newly published voters' list.

A Delhi court on Wednesday asked the National Investigation Agency to file a reply regarding the bail plea of jailed Kashmiri lawmaker Sheikh Abdul Rashid, also known as Engineer Rashid.

"Congress had given appointments to players on senior posts like DSP under the 'bring medals, get post’ policy. However, the BJP stopped this policy as soon as it came to power and took away the right of appointment to high posts from the players. BJP is discriminating against the players to such an extent that it has not given promotion to the players who became DSPs during the Congress tenure till date", he stated.

State Congress Chief Keshav Mahto Kamlesh responded to the speculation by asserting that the coalition had always shown respect to Soren. 

"The Bharatiya Janata Party is an ideology-based party. The party has never compromised on ideals. In this party, no one is above the organisation," he said.

The Awami Ittehad Party has decided to approach courts for 45-day parole of its leader and Lok Sabha MP, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, also known as Engineer Rashid, to campaign in the forthcoming three-phase Assembly elections.

PDP’s decision to field Iltija in the Assembly elections did not surprise political pundits as she had been actively managing the party’s poll campaigns during the Parliamentary elections.

"I have tendered my resignation as Vidhan Sabha member (MLA)," Choudhry stated.

Asaduddin Owaisi's All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) wants to ally with the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra to defeat the ruling Mahayuti alliance of the BJP, NCP, and Shiv Sena. Former MP Imtiaz Jaleel, the AIMIM's state unit president, said that his party had even offered to join the group in the Lok Sabha elections.
