Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, discussing various issues concerning the state.
The meeting took place at the Parliament House and lasted for over an hour.
Shiv Sena Members of Parliament, led by Parliamentary Party Leader Shrikant Shinde, also interacted with the prime minister, they said.
Shinde said, "Whenever the Parliament session begins, I usually come here. Yesterday, I had a meeting with our MPs. I try to attend every Parliament session, and I came this time as well. During my visit to Parliament, I met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and we also discussed several issues related to Maharashtra.”
"Balasaheb Thackeray was a patriot devoted to the entire country. He always put the nation first, country first, and politics came later. We are carrying forward Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideals, and at such a time, we must stand united with the Prime Minister and the entire nation, shoulder to shoulder. I also appeal to the opposition that it is not appropriate to play politics at such a time,” added Shinde, highlighting support with the PM.
