Maharashtra govt starts Rs 3,000 trial for 'Ladki Bahin'

With the Maharashtra government's "Ladki Bahin Yojana" set for launch, the Women and Child Development Department has trialed the scheme by transferring Rs 3,000 into select beneficiaries' accounts for the first two months. Announced in June, the "Mukhya Mantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana" will provide Rs 1,500 monthly to women aged 21-65 and cost Rs 46,000 crore annually.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who also handles the finance portfolio, tabled the Economic Survey 2023-24 in the Maharashtra Assembly during the monsoon session on Thursday.
