In anticipation of the massive gathering in the holy city, the Ayodhya district administration has taken measures to address potential health emergencies, particularly considering the cold weather.

Healthcare readiness takes center stage in Ayodhya ahead of Ram Mandir consecration ceremony

In preparation for the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple, healthcare institutions in Ayodhya have reserved beds at city-based hospitals, district hospitals, and the medical college. Moreover, specialists from AIIMS have trained doctors at these institutions in emergency response to ensure effective medical care during the ceremony.

In anticipation of the massive gathering in the holy city, the Ayodhya district administration has taken measures to address potential health emergencies, particularly considering the cold weather. Sri Ram Hospital, the city's government healthcare center located near the Ramjanmabhoomi temple, has been designated as the primary facility. Beds have been reserved at this over 120-year-old hospital for any attendees facing health emergencies during the event.

If further medical attention is required, patients will be referred to Ayodhya district hospital. For specialized treatment, individuals will be directed to Maharshi Dasrath Medical College at Darshan Nagar. Ayodhya boasts two British-era district hospitals, one for male and one for female patients, each equipped with 212 and 268 beds, respectively.

Chief Medical Superintendent of the District Hospital (Male),Dr. Brij Kumar, shared that 25 beds have already been reserved, with plans to increase the allocation to 20% of beds by January 22. The hospital is well-prepared with a team of doctors, including specialists in cardiology, orthopedics, pediatrics, and ENT surgery. Dr. Kumar emphasized the hospital's vigilance during the cold season and mentioned a temporary halt to elective surgeries around the event.

In addition to Sri Ram Hospital, doctors from the district hospitals have received specialized emergency response training from AIIMS professionals. The training sessions, conducted at the medical college campus, aimed to enhance medical preparedness for potential emergencies.

The central government is actively involved in supporting state-level preparations, with assurances of assistance if needed. The coordination involves deploying doctors and emergency response teams from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), augmenting emergency beds, oxygen facilities, and bringing in specialist doctors.

According to sources, 50 beds out of 212 have been reserved at Ayodhya district hospital (female). Ambulances, equipped with basic life support systems, will be strategically stationed at regular intervals near the temple complex site. Ten such ambulances from the district hospitals are reserved for the January 22 event, with additional advanced life support-equipped ambulances positioned by other agencies.

The healthcare infrastructure is well-stocked with medicine supplies, considering the significant number of attendees, the cold weather, and the expected presence of elderly guests. Post the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony, the influx of devotees is expected to surpass a lakh, necessitating ongoing healthcare provisions.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak assured that all arrangements are in place for devotees visiting Ayodhya for 'darshan' of Ram Lalla. Security measures, including extra doctors and ambulances, have been implemented, with provisions for a CATH lab and collaboration with private doctors.
