Google has revealed that its two new generative AI models––Veo and Imagen 3––are now available for businesses through Vertex AI, the cloud platform that offers a range of AI tools for business use.
Created by Google DeepMind, Veo is an image-to-video model that can generate high-definition, high-quality videos, featuring lifelike people and animals. Users can produce videos on Veo by uploading an image with a text prompt or by using a text prompt alone. It will be accessible via Vertex AI in a private preview phase.
Warren Barkley, senior director of product management for Google Cloud, stated, “Generative AI is driving genuine business growth and transformation. Among enterprise organisations utilising generative AI in production, 86 per cent report increased revenue, amounting to an estimated 6 per cent growth. This is why Google is investing in AI technology with new models like Veo, our most sophisticated video generation model, and Imagen 3, our highest quality image generation model.”
Imagen 3 represents Google’s newest image generation model, which can produce realistic, top-quality images from simple text prompts. Imagen 3 will also become available to all customers of Vertex AI starting next week.
Additionally, Imagen 3 is recognised as the foremost image generation AI model, with its output described as “photorealistic and lifelike.” Imagen 3 is capable of editing images, which includes the ability to add, remove, or extend elements of an image. These models are already in use by brands such as Cadbury, Oreo, and Milka.
All images and videos produced by Veo and Imagen 3 will feature digital watermarks, including Google DeepMind’s SynthID—a covert watermark designed to help combat misinformation and misattribution.
Google has also assured that both models will incorporate built-in safeguards to prevent misuse and the generation of inappropriate content. The company further confirmed that neither Imagen 3 nor Veo utilise customer data for training purposes.
