Driven by the PLI scheme, India's 5G subscriptions have surpassed 130 million, projected to reach 860 million by 2029, per a Prabhudas Lilladher report. India's teledensity is 85.64%, with rural at 58.92% (up from 44% in 2014) and urban at 134.13%.

Since the launch of India’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for smartphones in August 2021, the Apple ecosystem has solidified its position as a primary driver of blue-collar employment in the country.
