Young professionals can address India's challenges: Khattar

The Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs said the Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates (CMGGA) programme chieved significant goals, including doubling electricity supply and providing housing for all.

Union Minister for Power, Housing & Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar speaking at an event in New Delhi marking the completion of eight years of the Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates (CMGGA) programme in Haryana. 


Young professionals' unique vision can help address current governance challenges in a country where, by 2035, electricity demand will double and housing for 1.3 billion people will be required, Union Minister for Power, Housing & Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, said on Sunday. 


Khattar was speaking at an event marking the completion of eight years of the Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates (CMGGA) programme in the state. 

 

He said CMGGA had achieved significant goals, including doubling electricity supply and providing housing for all.

 

Launched in 2016, the programme engages young professionals as associates to bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to governance challenges. 

 

Ashoka University is the strategic partner in the programme, identifying passionate young professionals to work with district administrations in Haryana.

 

Over 148 good governance associates have collaborated on various governance initiatives, including the the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao programne, which significantly improved Haryana's sex ratio. 

 

CMGGA has also established over 660 Antyodaya Saral centres, providing more than 10 crore services.

 

A film and coffee table book showcasing eight years of CMGGA's work. Khattar presented appreciation certificates and mementos to CMGGA associates and honoured Ashoka University's Vice Chancellor Somak Raychaudhuri and other dignitaries.
