The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has filed a formal complaint with the Election Commission (EC) against West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose, accusing him of unlawfully intruding into the upcoming Lok Sabha poll process by establishing a parallel office resembling the EC.

The TMC criticised the Governor for launching a new portal called 'Log Sabha' aimed at addressing voters' grievances and establishing direct communication with them during the polls.

According to the TMC, this move not only undermines the authority of the EC but also hampers its ability to handle grievances effectively, leading to unnecessary confusion among the public.

"In light of these circumstances, we urge you to prohibit CV Ananda Bose from operating a parallel election system under the guise of 'Log Sabha,' which claims to receive and oversee complaints during the election period," stated the TMC's complaint letter.

The letter emphasised the need to ensure that the governor refrains from interfering with the election process and respects the powers and functions vested in the ECI.

The 'Log Sabha' portal, launched by Bose on Sunday, enables citizens to directly communicate their concerns, complaints, or suggestions to the governor via a dedicated email address.
