Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan blesses Harini Sri for her heartfelt contribution to the Wayanad relief fund.

A 13-year-old from Tamil Nadu, Harini Sri, has taken an extraordinary step to support those affected by the recent landslides in Wayanad, Kerala. The young Bharatanatyam dancer performed for three continuous hours to raise funds for the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF).

On Thursday, she donated ₹15,000, a sum that included her personal savings, to the relief efforts.

The Kerala government's Information Public Relations Department (IPRD) shared Harini's remarkable gesture on social media, praising her dedication.

"A 13-year-old girl child from Tamil Nadu, Harini Sri, performed Bharatanatyam for 3 hours straight to raise funds for the Wayanad landslide to #standwithwayanad. She donated Rs15,000, including her savings, to CMDRF," the post read.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan personally met with Harini, offering his blessings and commending her for her initiative.

The young dancer's contribution comes at a crucial time as Wayanad struggles to recover from the devastation caused by massive landslides that hit the region on July 30.

The disaster claimed over 300 lives and resulted in extensive property damage, leaving the district in dire need of assistance.

Meanwhile, rescue and recovery operations continue in the affected areas.

A special team comprising army personnel, Special Operations Group (SOG) officials, and forest department members has been conducting search efforts in the Sunrise Valley area of Soojippara since Thursday.

The Wayanad district administration organized a farewell ceremony for the Indian Army personnel who played a key role in the rescue operations. The army's efforts, spanning ten days, are now transitioning to the hands of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Fire Force, and Kerala police.

Additionally, Indian Air Force helicopters are aiding the ongoing search operations, delivering over 700 kg of relief materials and airlifting civilians and rescue teams from the disaster-stricken region.
