Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has played a pivotal role in conveying her husband's resilient spirit to the public while he remains incarcerated, senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia stated. He suggested that her political involvement might conclude once Kejriwal is released from Tihar Jail.

 

Following Kejriwal's arrest on 21 March in connection with an excise policy case, Sunita Kejriwal has become a crucial link between him and the party, significantly contributing to AAP's campaign efforts for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Delhi, Gujarat, and Haryana.

 

During an interaction at PTI's headquarters, Sisodia dismissed earlier media speculations that Sunita Kejriwal might take over as chief minister, instead praising her as a "well-educated, well-behaved, and seasoned lady." He noted that in the midst of the crisis following her husband's arrest, she emerged as a credible and emotional voice for AAP.

 

"Sunita Kejriwal's role was awesome. She effectively communicated Arvind Kejriwal's fighting spirit to the people, and I'm very proud of her," Sisodia said, adding that her involvement might not extend beyond Kejriwal's release.

 

Sunita Kejriwal has remained active in AAP's campaigning, particularly in Haryana, where assembly elections are due by the end of the year. She also participated in a meeting with AAP MLAs in Delhi to discuss preparations for the upcoming assembly elections, likely to be held in February next year.
