BJP leader and advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan on Thursday welcomed Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s proposed visit to Punjab on March 14, when he is scheduled to address the ‘Badlav Rally’.

Grewal said the party and its supporters in Punjab look forward to Shah’s address. He described the rally as an important political event and said the Union minister’s leadership continues to inspire party workers across the country.

In a post on X, Grewal said the rally would reflect the aspirations of people seeking change and development in the state. He termed it more than just a political gathering and said it would energise party workers ahead of future electoral challenges.

He also appreciated Punjab BJP working president Ashwani Sharma for announcing the rally from Chandigarh. Grewal said the announcement reflects the expectations of those who want transparent and development-oriented governance in the state.

Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Grewal alleged that Punjab is facing multiple challenges. He claimed that law and order has deteriorated and raised concerns over corruption, the alleged influence of mafias, healthcare and education issues, pending payments to farmers and workers, and infrastructure gaps.

He said these issues have affected public confidence. He said people in Punjab are looking for an alternative and are prepared to support stable and accountable governance.

Grewal expressed confidence that the BJP, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, could provide what he called a “double engine government” in Punjab. He said such governance would focus on growth, stability and development.

He described the March 14 rally as a significant moment in Punjab’s political landscape and said it could serve as a turning point ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.

Grewal also acknowledged the role of senior BJP leaders at the national level, stating that their guidance and organisational efforts were strengthening the party across states.
