Congress General Secretary and Sirsa MP Kumari Selja has written to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, highlighting the inadequate passenger facilities at Dabwali Model Railway station. In her letter, Selja emphasised the importance of expanding passenger train services, which would not only benefit Haryana but also neighboring regions of Punjab and Rajasthan, particularly traders.

Selja pointed out that Mandi Dabwali, a significant subdivision in Haryana, lacks sufficient passenger facilities despite being a model railway station and a crucial connectivity point to distant parts of the country. She stressed the need for direct train services to major cities like Ludhiana, Amritsar, Kalka, Chandigarh, and Delhi, as well as the extension of some trains to Hanumangarh.

Additionally, Selja requested the introduction of direct rail services from Dabwali to Ludhiana and Amritsar, and the resumption of a previously running train service from Barmer to Kalka. She also proposed extending trains from Jodhpur to Mumbai to Ferozepur, which would save passengers approximately 300 km of travel.

Furthermore, Selja suggested extending trains from Bathinda to Balurghat to Hanumangarh, and the Gorakhdham Express from Bathinda to Gorakhpur to Hanumangarh. She also urged the construction of a new railway line from Mandi Dabwali to Narwana, which would link the region to three railway lines and bring significant advantages to the area.

Overall, Selja's letter emphasises the need for improved passenger facilities and expanded train services in the region to benefit the public and boost railway connectivity.
