A viral video on social media has sparked both laughter and outrage after it showed electricity poles bizarrely placed right in the middle of a newly built road in Himachal Pradesh. The clip, shared by X user @raavan_india, takes a sarcastic swipe at the state’s Public Works Department, comparing the blunder to Bihar — where, reportedly, trees were once planted on roads.
“While Bihar plants trees on roads, Himachal has taken it a step further by installing electricity poles,” the man quips in the video, pointing out the sheer absurdity of the situation.
He goes on to say that the road has now become a kind of local attraction. “This is pure entertainment. It’s become a tourist spot — people are actually coming here just to see this wonder,” he jokes.
Taking the sarcasm up a notch, he suggests the poles might be part of a creative new driving test. “Maybe it’s to check how sharp our reflexes are behind the wheel,” he adds.
The video quickly caught the attention of netizens, many of whom chimed in with their own jabs. One comment asked the obvious but serious question: “Were the poles put up first, or was the road built around them?”
