A forest officer at the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve (BTR) has been suspended by the Madhya Pradesh government for allegedly issuing threats to a person who complained against him using the chief minister's helpline, officials said.
In a video going viral Assistant Forest Conservator Dilip Kumar Maratha from the BTR in Umaria district was seen threatening and using abusive language against the complainant.
According to a government release on Saturday the state government suspended Maratha with immediate effect.
He has been attached to the forest department headquarters in Bhopal during the suspension period, it said.
No other details were given.
