Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in West Bengal, campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the state Assembly Elections, scheduled for April 23. Addressing the gatherings at different venues, the PM exhibited assurance that Bengal would choose the BJP and not the TMC in this year’s elections.
“This year’s Bengal polls will be historic as people will end TMC's 'bhoy' (fear) and give a mandate to BJP's 'bharosa' (trust),” he said at Bankura rally.
Speaking at the Purulia poll rally, Modi takes a dig at TMC, saying that the West Bengal ministers have siphoned off people's money during the school teacher recruitment process and deceived thousands of youths.
“States do not get investments if there is 'bhoy' (fear), factories are established only if there is 'bharosa' (trust). It is the BJP govt that formed a separate ministry for tribals and allocated funds for their development. Tribal land captured by the TMC syndicate in Bengal,” he cited.
“Under TMC's 'maha jungleraj', tribal-dominated districts lag in development and basic amenities. TMC's 'nirmam sarkar' (cruel govt) is only interested in loot and not in development of tribals: PM in Bengal. We have made tribals chief ministers of Odisha, Chhattisgarh,” the prime minister added.
