A coordinated multi-agency mock drill was carried out at Jammu Airport to assess the operational preparedness and emergency response capability of various security and support agencies, officials said on Saturday.

The exercise saw participation from the CISF, Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K Police, Indian Air Force, Airports Authority of India (AAI), J&K Fire & Emergency Services, the GMC medical team, AAI Fire Services, and the CISF BDDS & Dog Squad.

Officials said the exercise aimed to strengthen inter-agency coordination, evaluate standard response procedures, and enhance preparedness for real-time emergencies at the airport.

The move comes days after a blast at the Red Fort in New Delhi that killed 15 people and left more than 20 others injured.

Security apparatus has been heightened across the country, particularly after two of the alleged suspects were found to be doctors from Jammu and Kashmir.

Subsequently, the Jammu and Kashmir police have intensified their anti-terror operations in the UT in the aftermath of the Delhi blast and the Faridabad  “white-collar” terror module bust.

According to official sources, the UT Police have cracked the whip against the terror network and raided several medical institutes across the Valley.

Officials have also searched lockers and storage facilities at Government Medical College in Srinagar, Anantnag and Ganderbal in connection with the “white-collar” terror module operating across several states in the country.
