The government of Punjab is working in a unified effort to transfigure the youth of the state into ‘job-givers instead of job-seekers’, said the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday while interacting with the students of Shaheed Subedar Mewa Singh School of Eminence in Morinda.

The state’s AAP government has ushered in a new era of educational revolution in Punjab, the chief minister said, adding that this revolution is yielding the desired results by grooming students for competitions and enabling them to excel in life.

On one hand, unprecedented steps have been taken to provide jobs to youths, and on the other, several endeavours have been made to channelise their unbounded energy in the state, he added.

Punjab launched the "education revolution" in 2022 in order to help the children of Punjab turn their dreams into reality and reach new heights in life, the chief minister cited.

Mann lamented that, upon reviewing the past, it was genuinely disheartening to see how flawed policies had once deprived poor children of their entitlement to education. However, the Chief Minister stated that the current AAP government has since taken "revolutionary" steps in the field of education that are now being widely appreciated across the nation.

A total of 118 'Schools of Eminence' are being established in the state with an investment of Rs 231.74 crore, the chief minister highlighted, saying that these schools are a ‘remarkable beginning toward a bright future for underprivileged children’.

The students studying in these schools are being provided with free uniforms and free bus services for girls so that not a single girl is left behind in accessing education, the Punjab CM underscored, claiming that the pupils from private schools are now seeking entry into these institutions, which he says, demonstrates the success of this model, and is a matter of immense pride.

Besides this, the students are also being offered specialised coaching for competitive examinations such as NEET, JEE, and NIFT, and at least 265 students qualified for JEE Mains, 44 cleared JEE Advanced, and 848 students qualified for NEET from 'Schools of Eminence' and other government schools, the chief minister further claimed.
