Maharashtra signs MoUs for Rs 5 trn, 250K jobs: CM

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced on Thursday that MoUs worth Rs 5 lakh crore signed in the past two years under his government will create 2.5 lakh jobs, contributing significantly to the vision of 'Viksit Bharat' (developed India).

In the last two years, 70,000 people have received help of rs 300 crore through cm's health cell, Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde said.





Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced on Thursday that his government has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 5 lakh crore over the past two years, which are expected to create 2.5 lakh jobs. 

 

Speaking after hoisting the national flag, Shinde emphasized Maharashtra's significant role in realizing the vision of 'Viksit Bharat' (developed India).

 

Shinde acknowledged the state’s previous decline in development rankings compared to other states and highlighted the government's efforts to stabilize and boost the economy. "We have successfully restored confidence among investors, industrialists, and the general public," he stated. 

 

"In the last two years, we have signed MoUs amounting to Rs 5 trillion, which will lead to the creation of 250,000 jobs. Maharashtra currently leads India in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)."

 

He detailed the state government's initiatives in various sectors, including agriculture, education, power generation, health, and infrastructure. Shinde also mentioned the Maharashtra Logistics Policy, aimed at generating Rs 30,000 crore in revenue. 

 

He noted that the first tranche of the 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana' has been disbursed, with many beneficiaries receiving Rs 3,000 as payment for July and August. He believes the scheme will make a significant impact on people's lives.

 

Additionally, Shinde highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects valued at Rs 10 lakh crore, including the final phase of the Samruddhi Expressway linking Nagpur and Mumbai. He also reported that the Chief Minister's Health Cell has assisted 70,000 people with Rs 300 crore in the past two years.

 

On the same day, Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, hoisted the national flag at the Council Hall in Pune. The event was marked by performances of the national anthem and the state song by a police band, with local MPs, MLAs, and other dignitaries in attendance.
