LG Sinha chairs high-level security meeting in Jammu

The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor on Sunday chaired a meeting of top officials to assess the prevailing law and order situation across the UT. The meeting was focused on devising the strategy of the security forces for the upcoming winter months.
 
The high-level meeting was also attended by the UT’s Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and DGP Nalin Prabhat, along with ADGP (Law & Order) Vijay Kumar.
 
Besides, Special DG (CID) R.R. Swain, General Commanding officers of Chinar Corps and White Knight Corps, Div Comm Jammu, IG CRPF Jammu division, IG BSF Jammu Frontier and senior officials of the Army and intelligence agencies were also present at the meeting.
 
Officials present at the meeting briefed LG Sinha on recent counter-terrorism operations and area-domination exercises carried out across both sides of the Pir Panjal ranges.
 
 
The officials said that the Lieutenant Governor, while praising the counterterror efforts, urged greater synergy between the armed forces to prevent and dismantle the terror ecosystem in the UT.
 
He told high-ranking officers of the BSF, CRPF, and GOCs of 15 and 16 corps to maintain high vigilance on the border as well as the LOC.
 
He directed officers to further intensify night patrolling, conduct stricter vehicle checking at the nakas, and hasten development in the recently declared terror-free villages to consolidate gains and strengthen trust between security forces, administration and the local population.
