LG, CM Omar express grief over Udhampur accident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of the victims who died in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur on Monday.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, along with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and JKPCC chief Tariq Hameed Karra have expressed anguish and offered condolences to the families of the victims of the Udhampur road accident.

 

In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said, “The tragic road accident in Udhampur is heartbreaking. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families. May God grant them strength. Praying for speedy recovery of the injured. I have directed the district administration, police, SDRF, and the Health Department to provide every possible assistance to those affected.”

 

Similar sentiments were shared by the Chief Minister’s Office on Monday in a post on X, stating that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic road accident involving a passenger bus travelling from Ramnagar to Udhampur. He extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.


The Chief Minister affirmed that the government stands firmly with the victims and their families in this hour of grief and that all necessary assistance is being extended.

 

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief Tariq Hameed Karra also offered condolences to the bereaved families through a social media post.

 

His post on X read: “Deeply saddened by the heart-breaking road accident on the Ramnagar–Udhampur route that has claimed 15 innocent lives and left several others injured. My heartfelt condolences to the grieving families who have lost their loved ones in this tragic incident. I pray for the swift and complete recovery of all those injured. I urge the concerned authorities to immediately provide all possible relief, proper medical care, and necessary support to the affected families in this hour of immense pain. May the departed souls rest in eternal peace.”

 

Prime Minister expresses condolences

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of the victims who died in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur on Monday. The Prime Minister said, “Pained to hear about the loss of lives due to a bus accident in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. I extend my heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their near and dear ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. An ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the PMNRF will be given to the next of kin of each of those who lost their lives in the tragic mishap. The injured will be given ₹50,000.”
