The commencement of the high school and intermediate examinations conducted by the UP Board witnessed an unprecedented level of vigilance aimed at curbing cheating practices.

As a result, more than 300,000 students chose to abstain from the exams on the initial day. Stringent measures were implemented, including the issuance of ID cards equipped with barcodes for invigilators, intensified surveillance through CCTV cameras and police patrols, and online monitoring of examination centers at various administrative levels.

The first day of examinations saw a significant number of absentees, totaling 333,541 candidates across both shifts.

Despite the heightened vigilance, five instances of cheating were reported, leading to immediate actions against the perpetrators, which included fake candidates and an examination center administrator.

Acknowledging the importance of maintaining strict oversight, the UP Board initiated additional measures to deter cheating. The innovative use of ID cards with barcodes for invigilators aimed to thwart attempts by counterfeit room inspectors.

Moreover, sensitive examination centers received enhanced supervision, bolstered by the installation of CCTV cameras equipped with voice recording capabilities.

The presence of UP Police personnel at sensitive and highly sensitive examination centers further emphasized the commitment to upholding the integrity of the examinations.

Additionally, the integration of online monitoring systems at various administrative levels, encompassing strong rooms and examination centers, represented a significant advancement in ensuring the security of question papers.

To facilitate efficient coordination and response, command and control rooms were established in key administrative offices, including the Directorate of Education in Lucknow and the Secondary Education Council Headquarters in Prayagraj, as well as in regional centers.

These measures collectively underscored the determination of the UP Board to maintain the sanctity and fairness of the examination process.
