Bomb disposal squads and airport security personnel spent hours painstakingly combing through the aircraft for any sign of a device.

It was a tense Friday at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport as security forces were scrambled following a bomb threat directed at a Lufthansa flight arriving from Frankfurt. The alarm was raised after the airline’s customer support team received a chilling email claiming an explosive had been planted on flight LH-754, with the sender threatening to detonate it before the aircraft could touch down at Shamshabad.

Emergency protocols were triggered immediately, and although the flight managed to land safely, it was quickly taxied to an isolation bay far from the main terminal. Bomb disposal squads and airport security personnel spent hours painstakingly combing through the aircraft for any sign of a device. While the inspection continued well into the day, officials noted that no immediate danger had been confirmed, though they remained on high alert.

As if the security scare wasn't enough, nature decided to add to the chaos. The adverse weather conditions and the strong winds made it impossible for other pilots to make a safe landing. There were two planes; one that belongs to Emirates Airline flying from Dubai and another one that is from Pune trying to land at the Shamshabad Airport but couldn’t because they had encountered strong winds.

Since the two planes couldn’t land safely, the plane that was from Pune was directed towards the Vijayawada airport while the Emirates airplane was diverted to Bengaluru airport. It was emphasised that despite all these emergencies that took place, things were done in accordance with procedures with passenger safety always first.
