CM Bhupendra Patel Promotes Youth Involvement in Government Projects.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel recently engaged with the youth participating in the Sardar Patel Good Governance CM Fellowship Program. He emphasised the unique opportunity these young individuals have to apply their knowledge and skills for societal benefit.

During the interaction, eighteen fellows shared their experiences working in various state government departments. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of using their academic knowledge for the common good, highlighting how their contributions can shape future policies and programs.

The fellowship program, launched on October 31 last year, aims to integrate innovative ideas from talented youth into the administrative framework. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of leveraging youthful innovation for governance.

Announced on Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary, the program continues the tradition of good governance focused on the welfare of the common man, especially the poor and deprived.

The fellowship attracted numerous applications, from which eighteen youths were selected based on merit. After undergoing initial training at the Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA), these fellows are now involved in various state government departments. Their roles include working on public welfare projects, conducting studies, analysing data, and implementing innovative solutions.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Ahmedabad serves as an academic partner and advisor, providing essential training to these fellows. Chief Minister Patel highlighted Gujarat's conducive environment for their work and assured them that funding would not be an issue for implementing their plans or new initiatives. He encouraged them to bring forth their best ideas and suggestions.

Additionally, the Chief Minister proposed holding quarterly review meetings with the fellows to offer guidance and gather their inputs. This initiative aims to ensure continuous improvement and integration of innovative ideas into the government's functioning.

Chief Advisor Dr. Hasmukh Adhia, Chief Secretary Rajkumar, and Additional Chief Secretaries Pankaj Joshi and Manojkumar Das participated in the discussion. They focused on facilitating the youths' work in their respective departments and addressing any challenges they might face.

The meeting, conducted by the Chief Minister’s Secretary Avantika Singh, included senior officials such as General Administration Department Principal Secretary M. Shahid and SPIPA Deputy Director General Vijay Kharadi. They discussed ways to support the fellows and enhance their contributions to public welfare.

This engagement underscores the Gujarat government’s commitment to fostering innovation and integrating fresh perspectives into governance. By empowering the youth through this fellowship program, the government aims to harness their potential for the betterment of society.
