ED seeks Soren’s presence in MLA court

In the application, The ED requested that since accused Hemant Soren is still in jail, he should be produced and made to appear in this case. In light of this application, a letter has been written to the Birsa Munda Jail Superintendent. This application will be heard next week.

The Enforcement Directorate has filed a production application in the Ranchi MP/MLA court to ensure former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s presence in the contempt of ED’s summons case.

Soren was supposed to appear in the Special MP/MLA court on Saturday, but he did not turn up.

Earlier, the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court had transferred the case to the MP/MLA court. Despite the CJM court taking cognisance in the case, Hemant Soren did not appear in the CJM court four times.
