Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said that the court will decide who is responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack. He made these comments as the NIA is set to file a chargesheet in the Pahalgam terror attack, noting that the investigation was still ongoing.

Omar said, “The investigation has been conducted. A chargesheet is being filed, and the decision will be made in the court.”

“The law will decide who is guilty and who is innocent. There is a court for that. Let the court make the decision,” he said.

The NIA’s job was to investigate the case and that the investigation has now been completed. Now the chargesheet is being filed in the court, he added. The latest chargesheet relates to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which terrorists shot dead 26 people, mostly tourists, in the Baisaran Valley.

The terror-probing agency will present the chargesheet before a special court in Jammu later on Monday.

It has been more than seven months since the agency arrested two men for allegedly harbouring the terrorists who carried out the deadly attack that killed 26 people and injured 16 others.

The two accused, Parvaiz Ahmad Jothar of Batkote in Pahalgam and Bashir Ahmad Jothar of Hill Park in Pahalgam, have reportedly disclosed the identities of the three armed terrorists involved in the attack.

The duo also confirmed that the attackers were Pakistani nationals affiliated with the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

The NIA, which has arrested the duo under Section 19 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and is continuing its investigation in the case (RC-02/2025/NIA/JMU), registered after the attack that shook the nation.
