The Congress on Wednesday unveiled its organisational structure for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections, retaining Amarinder Singh Raja Warring as president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee while assigning former chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi the responsibility of spearheading the party's election campaign.
The reshuffle signals the party's decision to rely on experienced leaders as it prepares to take on the ruling establishment in the state.
Announcing the appointments, the All India Congress Committee said senior leader Partap Singh Bajwa would continue as Leader of the Congress Legislature Party in Punjab, ensuring continuity in the party's legislative leadership.
Channi has been appointed chairman of the campaign committee and will lead the party's outreach and mobilisation efforts ahead of the Assembly polls.
Former minister Vijay Inder Singla has been named chairman of the Election Management and Coordination Committee, which will oversee organisational planning and election-related activities. Senior leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa will head the party's Core Committee.

The Congress also entrusted Amar Singh with leading the manifesto committee, which will prepare the party's election promises and policy agenda.
To strengthen its organisational setup, the party appointed Sukhwinder Singh Danny, Raj Kumar Verka and Sangat Singh Gilzian as working presidents of the Punjab Congress.
The campaign committee headed by Channi will include Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Rana Gurjeet Singh and Dharamvira Gandhi as co-chairpersons.
Similarly, the Election Management and Coordination Committee led by Singla will have OP Soni, Razia Sultana, Kuljit Singh Nagra, Angad Singh Saini and Bharat Bhushan Ashu as co-chairpersons.
The manifesto committee will be assisted by Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Pargat Singh, Hardial Singh Kamboj and Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria as co-chairpersons.
The appointments come as the Congress steps up preparations for the Punjab Assembly elections, seeking to consolidate its organisation and mount a strong electoral challenge.
