A class 6 student was reportedly sexually assaulted after five men forcibly took her to a room and kept her confined there for several hours, police said on Monday. Una Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and launched a manhunt to arrest the accused, who are still absconding.
The girl’s family has alleged that the accused also issued death threats and warned them not to report the matter to the police.
In her complaint, the minor stated that on Friday evening she was coming back from a nearby grocery shop with her sister when a man identified as Kush allegedly grabbed her. She alleged that when she resisted, four other individuals with their faces covered reached the spot and helped Kush forcibly take her to a room.
According to the complaint, Kush allegedly assaulted her physically and sexually abused her before keeping her confined in the room overnight. The next afternoon, she managed to escape and reached a village road, where a local resident helped her contact her father.
Despite being threatened not to approach the police, the victim, along with her family members, decided to file a complaint. Police said the minor has also undergone a medical examination as part of the investigation.
According to Haroli DSP Mohan Rawat, a case has been registered against the main accused, Kush, along with four unidentified persons. He added that police teams have started legal proceedings and assured that the accused will face the strictest possible action under the law.
