In some areas, protesters even carried out mock funeral processions for the Congress government, while others gathered in massive numbers outside KCR’s Erravelli residence.

Telangana was on the edge this Sunday as Bharat Rashtra Samithi supporters flooded the streets to protest the Special Investigation Team’s (SIT) decision to summon former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in the ongoing phone-tapping case. From rural village squares to major national highways, the state saw a massive wave of rallies and road blockades, with the party cadre accusing the Revanth Reddy government of blatant political vendetta.

The anger was visible across the board— effigies of CM Revanth Reddy were set ablaze in districts like Siddipet, Nizamabad, and Nalgonda. In some areas, protesters even carried out mock funeral processions for the Congress government, while others gathered in massive numbers outside KCR’s Erravelli residence. The demonstrations weren't just limited to the cities; mandal headquarters and remote villages saw local leaders leading marches and shouting slogans against what they called "state-sponsored harassment."

Things got heated in several spots as police moved in to make preventive arrests, particularly where highway traffic was ground to a halt. These protests follow a direct call for a statewide stir by BRS working president KT Rama Rao, who has warned the ruling party that misusing investigative agencies will backfire.

As the situation unfolded, KCR left his Erravelli home and is expected to reach Nandi Nagar by noon, with KTR by his side. Meanwhile, the party’s heavy hitters, including T Harish Rao, have set up camp at Telangana Bhavan to monitor the situation. With the SIT probe looming, the police aren't taking any chances— security has been dialled up to the maximum at both Nandi Nagar and Telangana Bhavan to prevent any clashes.
