J&K Police carries out extensive raids across the city targeting residences of terrorist associates.

Anti-terror raids and security operations have intensified across the Kashmir Valley after the November 10 Delhi explosion that killed 15 and left 20 others injured.

Security operations continued on Friday with surprise checks carried out in the heart and commercial hub of Srinagar’s Lal Chowk area. Personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Jammu and Kashmir Police were seen carrying out comprehensive checks of vehicles in the area.

The move comes days after the UT’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level security meeting amid ongoing anti-terror operations in the Valley.

He had directed police officials to intensify search operations and ensure stricter vehicle checks by establishing and strengthening nakas at critical places, while ensuring seamless coordination among all security agencies.

On Thursday, the J&K Police carried out simultaneous raids across several districts in central, south and north Kashmir, targeting Jamaat-linked members, associates, and anti-national elements.

These raids were part of a broader security strategy aimed at dismantling terror infrastructure and its roots in the Valley. The “white-collar” terror module has raised alarm bells among security analysts after highly educated youths were found to be involved in the Faridabad terror nexus.

Reportedly, some members of this “white-collar” module were from Jammu and Kashmir, particularly from South Kashmir, which has marred by militancy and violence over the past decade.

A total of 25 people were killed and 52 others injured after an explosion at New Delhi’s iconic Red Fort area, followed by an accidental blast.

Explosives were recovered and brought in from Faridabad for analysis, which later destroyed a police station in the Nowgam area of Srinagar city.
