Delhi Capitals registered a commanding seven-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in a high-scoring IPL clash on Friday, completing their highest successful run chase against the side.
KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka starred with fluent half-centuries, powering DC to a comfortable chase.
Riyan Parag top-scored for Rajasthan Royals with a brilliant 90 off just 50 balls, helping them post a challenging 225 for 6 in 20 overs. Chasing 226, KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka forged a blistering 102-run opening stand in just 9.3 overs. Nissanka entertained with some powerful pull shots, including three sixes, before falling to Ravindra Jadeja.
Rahul then added a crucial 61-run partnership with Nitish Rana (33) to keep the momentum going. After both departed in quick succession, DC needed 49 of 26 balls.
Ashutosh Sharma and Tristan Stubbs then held their nerve in the death overs to seal a comfortable victory with 5 balls to spare.
