Chelsea pulled off a dramatic 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Brazilian teenager Estevao, plunging the Premier League champions into a third consecutive defeat.
The 18-year-old forward, who joined Chelsea from Palmeiras over the summer, slid in at the far post to convert Marc Cucurella’s cross, sparking wild celebrations that earned coach Enzo Maresca a red card.
"It is extra special to win like that because you win energy, trust and confidence in the process," Chelsea assistant Willy Caballero said. "It is also something unforgettable for Estevao."
Moises Caicedo had earlier put Chelsea ahead with a thunderous long-range strike before Cody Gakpo equalised for Liverpool. Despite Enzo Fernandez’s header striking the post in added time, Chelsea’s persistence ultimately paid off.
The defeat leaves Liverpool off the summit, with Arsenal now leading the table by a single point following their 2-0 victory over West Ham. Goals from Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, the latter from the penalty spot on his 200th appearance, inflicted a first defeat on new West Ham coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

"We've had some tough games, particularly away. We are in a strong place in the Premier League and looking forward to coming back and pushing on," Saka told the BBC. "Mikel has very much improved my game. He will bring this club success and (I'm) looking forward to when that day comes." Arsenal’s captain, Martin Odegaard, however, suffered another injury during the match.
Manchester United secured a vital 2-0 win against Sunderland, easing pressure on coach Ruben Amorim. Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesko scored in the first half, while new goalkeeper Senne Lammens kept his first clean sheet of the season.
"It's really important to win games and have a better feeling but we need to forget this game and go for the next one," Amorim said, following a week of scrutiny over his tenure.
Elsewhere, Tottenham maintained their strong start under Thomas Frank as Mohammed Kudus netted his first goal for the club in a 2-1 win at Leeds. Mathys Tel opened the scoring, and Noah Okafor equalised before Kudus secured the victory from the edge of the box.
