Faridkot's BJP candidate, Singer-turned Politician Hans Raj Hans faced the anguish of the public as he visited his constituency on Thursday. Starting the poll campaigning with a roadshow, Hans faced farmers' protests.

The singer initially offered his prayers at Gurdwara Tila Baba Farid.

Reciting Baba Farid's verses, Hans stated, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent me here to serve people. I am not here to protest against anyone or say anything negative. I am here for the love of people."

At the same time, supporters of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Ekta-Ugrahan), BKU (Krantikari), and Kirti Kisan Union voiced their discontent by chanting slogans against the BJP and displaying black flags during Hans' roadshow.

This action was in response to perceived failures in meeting farmers' demands and the recent crackdown at the Punjab-Haryana borders on SKM's decision to hold demonstrations against the BJP in the approaching Lok Sabha polls.

Rajinder Singh Deep Singh Wala, Kirti Kisan Union vice-president said, "We will strongly oppose the BJP candidates. The BJP government has run away from their commitments, which they have given in 2021. We will campaign against them and ask people to punish them for betraying farmers".
