Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J P Nadda are slated to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister on Thursday. Pema Khandu, the incumbent since 2016, is set to continue in his role.

 

The ceremony, scheduled at 10 PM on Thursday at Indira Gandhi Park in Itanagar, will witness the oath-taking of Khandu and his council of ministers.

 

Today, BJP legislature party leaders will convene in Itanagar under central observers' supervision to select the legislature party leader.

 

National General Secretary Tarun Chugh and MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, appointed as central observers by the BJP Parliamentary Board, will oversee the process.

Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place across Itanagar for the smooth conduct of the ceremony.

 

The ruling BJP clinched victory in Arunachal Pradesh, securing a third consecutive term in the assembly elections held alongside Lok Sabha polls on April 19.

 

With 46 seats out of 60, BJP secured a clear majority, winning 10 uncontested seats among the 50 Assembly segments where votes were counted.
