Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has taken legal action against Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and General Secretary Jairam Ramesh for allegedly disseminating misleading and defamatory content about him on X. Gadkari's lawyer, Balendu Shekhar, revealed that his client was dismayed by the content and posts from the official Congress handle on the microblogging platform.

Kharge and Ramesh are accused of deliberately sharing a 19-second video clip of Gadkari's interview with "The Lallantop" web portal, omitting the contextual intent and meaning of his words, according to the lawyer.

The legal notice asserts that this act was committed with the intent to create confusion, sensation, and disrepute to Gadkari in the eyes of the public. It is also seen as an attempt to sow discord within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the general election approaches, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The notice emphasizes that Gadkari's interview was manipulated by distorting and presenting the video without its contextual meaning. It accuses Kharge and Ramesh of being aware of the full interview content, where the government's efforts were highlighted, yet deliberately posting the Hindi caption and the video clip to tarnish Gadkari's reputation.

The legal notice demands the removal/deletion of the mentioned post from their microblogging site 'X' within 24 hours of receiving the notice. Additionally, it calls for a written apology to Gadkari within three days. Failure to comply would compel Gadkari to explore all available civil and criminal actions at their risk and expense.
