V Srinivasan, husband of Indian Olympic Association President and Rajya Sabha MP P T Usha, passed away on Friday. He was 67.
Family sources said Srinivasan collapsed at his residence early this morning, and was rushed immediately to a nearby hospital, but could not be revived.
Srinivasan was a former central government employee, but known better as PT Usha’s pillar of support and the driving force behind her many professional milestones. A constant presence by her side throughout her illustrious sporting and political career, they celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in 2021.
BJP sources said Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the passing of Srinivasan and called Usha personally over the phone to express his grief.

The couple have a son, Ujjwal, who got married last year.
