Providing further details, Dr Anurag Dhakad stated, “The fire appears to have been caused by a short circuit. Our patients were already in a very critical condition, with most of them in a coma. Their survival reflexes were poor, and they required constant support systems. Due to the electrical fire, toxic gases were released, and we had to shift them along with their life-support equipment. Their condition became more serious. We tried to transfer them to ICUs on the lower floor, but we could not save them. There are six casualties.”
Further updates on the incident are awaited from the hospital administration.
