PM Modi's Independence Day Speech Called Election Rally By Shiv Sena UBT's Mouthpiece Newspaper Saamana.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) has criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day speech, calling it "boring" and more suited to an election campaign rally rather than a national address. The critique, published in the party's mouthpiece Saamana, expressed disappointment with the tone and content of the speech delivered from the Red Fort.

According to the editorial, PM Modi's remarks failed to reflect the seriousness of the occasion, accusing him of not giving due respect to the country's independence.

The criticism extended to specific points in the speech, where the Prime Minister mentioned that enemies used to enter the country and attack, which the editorial interpreted as an insult to the Indian armed forces. The editorial suggested that PM Modi should have instead focused on past military victories, such as the Kargil war.

The article also praised former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, highlighting her decisive actions during the conflict with Khalistani militants and her ultimate sacrifice for the nation.

In contrast, the editorial criticised PM Modi for his silence on the ongoing crisis in Manipur, accusing him of ignoring a significant issue that has affected the region for years.

Further, the editorial questioned the achievements of PM Modi's government during his tenure, arguing that his administration has done little to advance the country beyond what previous governments had accomplished.

It pointed out that while India had made substantial progress in various fields before Modi came to power, his government has been more focused on issues like the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and a new Parliament building, both of which were mentioned as flawed projects.

The editorial concluded by expressing concern over the direction in which the country is heading under Modi's leadership, particularly in terms of undermining democratic institutions and the Constitution.

It questioned how much longer the nation would have to endure such a period and criticised the Prime Minister for lacking a connection to the freedom struggle, implying that this disconnect was evident in his speech.
