Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is set to meet his Delhi counterpart, Arvind Kejriwal, in Tihar jail on April 30, according to sources within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Second Meeting Scheduled: Mann's upcoming visit marks his second meeting with Kejriwal, who is currently incarcerated in Tihar jail in connection with a money-laundering case linked to Delhi's excise policy.

Mann Voices Concern: Following his meeting with Kejriwal in Delhi, Mann expressed concerns over the treatment of the accused, stating that Kejriwal is being treated like a dangerous criminal despite being only an accused individual.

Support for Kejriwal: Mann described Kejriwal as an "honest man" and emphasised the importance of the Aam Aadmi Party's ideology, asserting that while Kejriwal may be detained, the idea behind AAP cannot be imprisoned.

Legal Proceedings: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court opposing Kejriwal's plea against his arrest, citing his alleged non-cooperation with the agency despite multiple summonses.

Key Evidence Uncovered: The ED informed the apex court that it has recovered crucial evidence implicating Kejriwal in activities related to the proceeds of crime, despite his alleged lack of cooperation.

Legal Battles: Kejriwal has challenged his arrest and subsequent detention by the ED in connection with the excise policy case. The Delhi High Court had earlier dismissed his plea, citing his failure to comply with multiple summonses.

High Court's Decision: The High Court's dismissal of Kejriwal's plea for release was based on his repeated absence from ED summons over several months, undermining his claims of special privilege as Chief Minister.

Ongoing Legal Proceedings: Kejriwal's legal battle continues, with the apex court now considering his plea against the ED's actions, alleging political motivations behind his arrest amid the general elections.
