President Droupadi Murmu has made significant judicial appointments, elevating seven additional judges from the Bombay High Court and three additional judges from the Delhi High Court to permanent positions. This move is part of a broader effort to ensure stability and continuity within these key judicial institutions.

The newly appointed permanent judges of the Bombay High Court include Yanshivraj Gopichand Khobragade, Mahendra Wadhumal Chandwani, Abhay Sopanrao Waghwase, Ravindra Madhusudan Joshi, Santosh Govindrao Chapalgaonkar, Milind Manohar Sathaye, and Dr. Neela Kedar Gokhalc.

Their appointments reflect a commitment to maintaining a robust judicial system in Maharashtra, addressing the needs of the state's legal community with experienced and dedicated professionals.

In addition to these appointments, President Murmu has also extended the terms of two additional judges of the Bombay High Court, Sanjay Anandrao Deshmukh and Justice Vrushali Vijay Joshi, for another year.

Their reappointment underscores the importance of their roles and contributions to the judiciary. Their fresh one-year term, starting from October 7, 2024, will ensure continuity and experienced oversight in the court's operations.

The Delhi High Court also sees new additions to its bench, with Girish Kathpalia, Manoj Jain, and Dharmesh Sharma being appointed as permanent judges. This move aims to strengthen the judicial framework in Delhi, ensuring that the court can effectively handle the growing demands of its caseload.

These appointments are part of the broader judicial reforms and efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the judicial system in India. By elevating experienced judges to permanent positions, the President's decision helps ensure that both high courts will continue to operate with stability and authority, addressing the legal needs of their respective regions.

The Union Ministry of Law and Justice has confirmed these appointments, highlighting the ongoing commitment to judicial excellence and the strengthening of India’s legal institutions.
