PM urges citizens to take precautions amid heatwave,show empathy

In a social media post, PM Modi advised all to keep themselves hydrated and carry water when stepping out of homes.He also asked citizens to adopt empathetic approach towards people in offering help to people under stressful situations arising out of extreme temperatures.

PM Narender Modi has asked people to take full care of themselves in ongoing extreme heatwave and remain empathetic towards needy persons.


As the temperatures are continuously rising in different parts of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens to take as many precautions as possible. In a social media post, PM Modi advised all to keep themselves hydrated and carry water when stepping out of homes.He has also advised people to take care of elderly, deprived and animals under severe heatwave.

 

Stressing about increasing difficulties caused by the heat in daily life, the PM  Modi said that in such weather, sensitivity becomes a great source of support. He suggested offering a glass of water to anyone who is thirsty. He also asked everyone to keep in touch with family and loved ones to inquire about their well-being, reminding them to drink plenty of water, avoid going out in the harsh afternoon sun, and rest as much as they can.

 

 

He further directed placing a small vessel filled with water outside homes, balconies, rooftops, shops, or offices, keeping in mind the animals and birds. PM Modi also appreciated the efforts those who keep water in pitchers outside their homes and shops so that anyone can drink from them. The Prime Minister urged everyone to look after one another with complete sensitivity and compassion in these difficult days.

 

Meanwhile, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heatwave conditions today over parts of Delhi, with maximum temperature hovering between 43 and 45 degrees Celsius. Severe heatwave conditions are also expected to persist during the day in places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha.

 

In Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana and Uttarakhand also similar conditions are expected. Gangetic West Bengal, Konkan and Goa, Odisha, Saurashtra, Kutch, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are expected to experience hot and humid weather conditions.

 

Warm night conditions are likely to prevail tonight in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha.The Weather Agency also predicted heavy rainfall in parts of north-east India, Bihar, Interior Karnataka, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today.
