Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a new airport in Daman and launch or lay the foundation stones of development projects worth ₹18,000 crore in Surat during a visit to Gujarat and the Union Territory on June 5.
According to officials, Modi will begin his visit in Surat, where he is scheduled to tour an industrial facility in the Hazira area before attending a public function at an indoor stadium in the city.
Surat Collector Tejas Parmar said the Prime Minister would inaugurate and lay foundation stones for a range of projects collectively valued at around ₹18,000 crore during the event.
The projects are expected to cover multiple sectors and form part of the Centre's broader infrastructure and development agenda in Gujarat.
Following his engagements in Surat, Modi will travel to Daman, where he is slated to inaugurate a civilian airport constructed adjacent to an Indian Coast Guard airstrip. Officials said the facility is expected to improve regional air connectivity and support economic activity in the Union Territory.

Later, Modi is scheduled to address a public gathering at Swami Vivekananda Ground in Daman. During the event, he will virtually inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several additional development projects across the Union Territory.
Officials said the initiatives are aimed at strengthening infrastructure, public services and connectivity in the region.
The visit comes as the Centre continues to focus on large-scale infrastructure expansion and economic development projects across states and Union Territories. Gujarat, Modi's home state, has remained a key destination for major public investment projects in sectors ranging from transport and industry to healthcare and urban development.
Further details regarding the projects to be inaugurated and launched are expected to be announced closer to the Prime Minister's visit.
