New Delhi is set to host a landmark gathering this week, as India stages the Artificial Intelligence Impact Summit 2026. The event, which began on Monday, is positioned as a global forum aimed at shaping a future for artificial intelligence that is inclusive, responsible, and resilient. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to inaugurate the India AI Impact Expo at 5 pm on February 16, 2026, at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
Running alongside the summit, the Expo will be a national showcase of AI in action. There will be 300 different pavilions, immersive exhibits, demonstrations of products and exhibition spaces dedicated to showcasing the latest advancements in technology from leading companies. Pillars of People, Planet and Progress will shape how the 300 pavilions are developed.

They will host 600 innovative startups from around the globe, represented by 13 international pavilions from different nations, with over 600 organisations already involved in their construction. The platform of the Expo will serve as a place where all stakeholders (both the private and public sectors) will come together and discuss AI as a global community.

PM Modi has invited global tech leaders to India through social media and is proud to showcase our cultural diversity. The summit marks India's dedication to youth and innovation, as seen by the attention the nation has received internationally for the progress made in the fields of science and technology.

The first day of the event will be dominated by the applications of artificial intelligence. During the first session, "Artificial Intelligence For Road Safety", the Ministry of Transport will present how to leverage data-driven approaches to improve existing safety infrastructure throughout India.
The day will include a leadership session on the applications of AI in the future of education and work. The session will be about how AI is changing the global workforce and the skills that are required to match up.

Another important session will be the “Transformation of the Indian Judicial Ecosystem with AI”. The session will cover topics such as the use of predictive analytics in decision-making, case management, and legal research.

The summit will also cover the “Impact of AI on Cultural Norms”, which will emphasise how such systems tend to fail when implemented in different settings, if they do not factor in local social values.

The future of employability is a key area that will be covered during the summit too, as it is expected that AI will make some jobs redundant even as it opens up new ones.

Finally, agriculture will be in the spotlight with a special session on how to use AI for smart and resilient agriculture. This will bring together different views on how technology can be used to support sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture practices.
