PM Modi launches third Vande Bharat Express for Jharkhand; Operations to begin March 18

PM also inaugurated additional train routes, such as Ahmedabad to Mumbai Central, Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam, and Lucknow to Dehradun. This adds to the three Vande Bharat trains now serving Jharkhand, including the "Ranchi-Patna" and "Ranchi-Howrah" routes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the third Vande Bharat Express for Jharkhand through virtual means today. The Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express was officially inaugurated online by the Prime Minister at 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday.

 

Commencing its regular operations from March 18, ticket bookings for the train have commenced. Passengers traveling from Ranchi to Varanasi will be charged Rs 2725 (with food) and Rs 2325 (without food) for executive class, while for chair car, the fare will be Rs 1505 (with food) and Rs 1160 (without food).

 

The passengers will be provided breakfast and lunch. Varanasi will be reached by the Vande Bharat train in 7.50 hours. The train from Varanasi station will depart at 4.05 pm and arrive at Ranchi station at 11.55 pm, while the train from Ranchi station will depart at 5.10 am and arrive at Varanasi station at 1 pm.

 

For Jharkhand, this is the third Vande Bharat train. The Prime Minister had already granted the "Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Train" and the "Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Train."

 

At the Ranchi Railway Station for this inaugural event were Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Member of Parliament Sanjay Seth, Rajya Sabha member Aditya Sahu, and Sameer Oraon.

 

Anil Mishra, the general manager of South Eastern Railway, DRM Jasmeet Bindra, MLA Deepak Birua, MLA CP Singh, and MLA Koche Munda were also present at the launch.

 

The Governor remarked on the occasion that, under the Prime Minister's leadership, our country is now the world's fifth largest economy and is swiftly approaching the third largest. The benefits of development are apparent on many levels, and people's living conditions are increasing dramatically.

 

Various strategies are implemented to promote their development and welfare. Rail connectivity has improved significantly, and trains are now arriving on time at stations.  Civil facilities are visible at the station. He said that railway facilities in Jharkhand have expanded at a very fast pace, he said.

 

On the occasion, the Prime Minister also inaugurated trains from Ahmedabad to Mumbai Central, Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam, Mysuru to Dr. MGR Central (Chennai), Patna to Lucknow, New Jalpaiguri to Patna, Puri to Visakhapatnam, Lucknow to Dehradun, and Kalaburagi to Sir M Visvesvaraya.

 

The celebration included the laying of the foundation stone, the dedication of railway projects worth more than Rs. 85 thousand crores, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's video-conference inauguration of ten Vande Bharat trains.
