This high honour is bestowed on those persons who have provided distinguished services to the integrity, continuity, and prosperity of the republic by showing an excellent commitment to protect the glory of the nation of Indonesia.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto announced on Tuesday that Indonesia has conferred its highest honour, the 'Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna' medal of honour, upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Officially instituted in 1959, the Star of the Republic of Indonesia represents the pinnacle of civilian and military recognition. This high honour is bestowed on those persons who have provided distinguished services to the integrity, continuity, and prosperity of the republic by showing an excellent commitment to protect the glory of the nation of Indonesia.

The Prime Minister of India thanked Indonesia for the warm welcome offered to him after reaching Jakarta, posting small bits of the welcome on X, formerly known as Twitter. He mentioned how thankful he was for the ceremonial welcome extended to him at the Istana Merdeka, which is the Presidential Palace. The spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs named Randhir Jaiswal said that the visit will be important for taking the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership forward. The ministry added that the engagement opens new avenues for cooperation across priority sectors whilst reinforcing the deep trust, shared values, and enduring friendship that bind the two nations.

Sources indicate that Modi's visit to Indonesia is expected to yield substantial outcomes. In a major endorsement of India's election management model, New Delhi will support the development of Indonesia-specific electronic voting machines. In addition to the well-known success of India’s ability to shoot down aircraft with its air-to-air missiles in the operation named Sindoor, it was revealed by some sources close to the issue that Indonesia is planning to buy Indian Astra missiles.

To bolster the critical mineral supply chain, India is going to manufacture steel, nickel, and rare-earth permanent magnets in Indonesia. Indonesia will also increase the stockpile of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles with the help of additional Indian missiles. Additionally, both countries are poised to jointly develop Sabang port. Overlooking the strategic Strait of Malacca, this port sits just 100 miles away from India's own Great Nicobar port project. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi signed the official guestbook after meeting President Subianto at the Presidential Palace, where both leaders shook hands and exchanged cordial smiles.
