Prior to their meeting, Prime Minister Modi welcomed Ibrahim with a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. This visit is significant as it is Ibrahim's first state visit to India since taking office. Upon arrival, he was greeted by Union Minister of State V Somanna at the airport.
