National BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan on Sunday expressed profound pride and joy over the upcoming inauguration of the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, scheduled for October 8. Grewal described the event as a moment of immense national significance, celebrating the airport as a testament to India’s advancing infrastructure and global ambitions.
Grewal emphasised that the Navi Mumbai International Airport is more than just an infrastructure project; it is a powerful symbol of New India’s progress, pride, and potential. He stated, “This world-class airport stands as a shining testament to the vision, dedication and leadership of Prime Minister Modi and the Government of India, whose tireless commitment to infrastructure, innovation and national development continues to transform the dreams of millions into reality.”
Designed to handle 90 million passengers and 3.2 million metric tonnes of cargo annually, the airport is poised to become one of Asia’s most advanced aviation hubs, embodying the nation’s unstoppable spirit and global vision.
The BJP leader highlighted the airport’s architectural brilliance, technological excellence, and eco-conscious design, noting that it will significantly strengthen India’s aviation network while boosting international connectivity, trade, and tourism. He credited Prime Minister Modi’s transformative leadership, stating, “It reflects the transformative leadership of Prime Minister Modi, who has redefined the meaning of progress through honesty, vision and dedication to the people of India.”
Grewal extended his gratitude to the Government of India, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), and the Adani Group for their collaborative efforts in bringing this monumental project to fruition.
He underscored that the airport’s completion demonstrates India’s growing capability to set global benchmarks in development and modernisation, adding, “Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India continues to take giant strides toward becoming a world leader in every field.”
