The Mumbai Police's crime branch has retrieved two pistols, magazines, and bullets from the Tapi river in Gujarat in connection with Salman Khan firing case.

 

The operation, aimed at recovering weapons allegedly used in the shooting outside the Bollywood superstar's residence, commenced on Monday and yielded crucial evidence.

 

Led by 'encounter specialist' senior police inspector Daya Nayak, a team of 12 officials continues the search at the river, aided by scuba divers.

 

The recovered items include two pistols, three magazines, and 13 bullets, shedding light on the events surrounding the incident.

 

The firing incident occurred on April 14 outside Salman Khan's residence at the Galaxy Apartment in Mumbai's Bandra area. The two accused, Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), allegedly discharged firearms before fleeing on a motorbike.

 

Following meticulous technical surveillance, the Mumbai and Kutch police apprehended Gupta and Pal on April 16 at a temple in Gujarat's Mata No Madh near Bhuj town. They were subsequently handed over to the Mumbai police for further investigation.

 

During interrogation, Gupta and Pal confessed to disposing of the weapon into the Tapi river from a railway bridge while fleeing to Bhuj. Their motive, as revealed by police sources, was to instill "terror" with the firing incident.

 

The investigation has implicated jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi as "wanted accused" in connection with the case. Gupta and Pal allegedly received instructions from the Bishnoi brothers, highlighting a deeper network involved in the incident.

 

While Lawrence Bishnoi is currently imprisoned at the Sabarmati central prison in Gujarat, his brother's whereabouts are believed to be in Canada or the US, according to officials.
