AAP Leader Sisodia Marks Freedom with Temple and Raj Ghat Visits.

After his release from Tihar Jail, former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat. Sisodia, who spent 17 months in jail related to the Delhi Excise Policy case, visited the memorial accompanied by senior party leaders. This gesture was symbolic, reflecting his return to public life and the values of non-violence and truth that Gandhi stood for.

Sisodia’s release came after the Supreme Court granted him bail, a decision that was celebrated by his supporters and party members. Before heading to Raj Ghat, Sisodia visited a Hanuman temple in the city.

His visit to the temple was a significant moment for the AAP leader, who expressed his belief in divine blessings. “Lord Bajrang Bali has blessed me, and you will see that Kejriwal ji will also be blessed in the same way,” Sisodia said.

This statement highlighted his optimism and hope for the future, particularly for his close associate and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who also faces legal challenges.

The visit to Raj Ghat was marked by a strong sense of reverence as Sisodia and his colleagues paid their respects to the father of the nation. The choice of Raj Ghat as the first public place to visit after his release was symbolic of Sisodia’s alignment with the principles of Gandhi, particularly in the face of adversity. The AAP leader’s gesture was also a message to his supporters, reaffirming the party’s commitment to justice and truth.

In a post on social media earlier that day, Sisodia shared a photograph of himself enjoying his first morning tea with his wife after his release. He expressed gratitude for the freedom guaranteed by the Indian Constitution and reflected on the significance of breathing freely once again. Sisodia’s words on social media resonated with many, as they underscored the importance of constitutional rights and personal liberty.

The Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, who welcomed Sisodia's release, described it as a "victory of justice." This sentiment was echoed by many within the AAP, who viewed the Supreme Court’s decision as a validation of their belief in the power of the law.

The release of Sisodia was celebrated not just by his party members but also by the local community, with AAP supporters gathering outside Tihar Jail to mark the occasion.

Sisodia, in his first address after his release, credited his freedom to the Constitution crafted by Babasaheb Ambedkar. He spoke about the protection it offers against dictatorial regimes, emphasising that the Constitution safeguards the rights of opposition leaders and the public. His speech carried a tone of defiance and hope, as he assured his supporters that Kejriwal would also emerge victorious from his legal battles.

The entire episode highlighted the ongoing political challenges faced by the AAP, as well as the broader implications for democracy and justice in India. Sisodia’s visit to Raj Ghat and his subsequent statements were seen as a reaffirmation of the party’s resolve to fight against what they perceive as unjust actions by the authorities.

The events of the day served to galvanise the party’s base, while also sending a clear message about their commitment to upholding the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.

Manish Sisodia’s return to public life, marked by his visit to Raj Ghat and the Hanuman temple, was not just a personal moment of reflection but also a political statement.

It underscored the AAP’s narrative of resilience and their reliance on constitutional principles to navigate the challenges ahead. Sisodia’s actions and words during this significant day were aimed at rallying his supporters and strengthening the party’s resolve in the face of adversity.
