Congress Vows To Fight For MSP And Against Agnipath Scheme.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge recently convened a crucial meeting at the AICC Headquarters to discuss the party's strategy for the upcoming assembly elections. The gathering included all general secretaries, Pradesh Congress Committee presidents, and state in-charges. Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, was also present.

The meeting focused primarily on organisational matters and election preparedness. Kharge emphasised the need to address various national issues, including unemployment, inflation, and the ongoing debate surrounding a caste census.

He expressed the party's commitment to fighting for the legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers and the repeal of the Agnipath scheme, which has been a contentious issue among the youth.

Kharge also raised concerns about the recent revelations involving the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the Adani Group. He called for a thorough investigation and demanded the resignation of the SEBI chairperson. The party plans to build a national campaign around these issues, aiming to connect with the public and address their grievances.

In addition to these topics, the meeting addressed other pressing matters such as train derailments, climate-related disasters, and collapsing infrastructure. Kharge highlighted the importance of addressing these issues to ensure the safety and well-being of the public.

Following the meeting, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal reiterated the party's demand for a nationwide caste census and called for the Wayanad disaster to be declared a national disaster.

He also discussed the recent natural calamities in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and the Northeastern states, stressing the need for immediate government action.

The Congress party is set to launch a national campaign centred around these issues, aiming to resonate with the public and strengthen its position ahead of the assembly elections. The party's leadership is determined to address the concerns of the people and present a strong alternative to the current government.
