An IndiGo flight on Wednesday, originally scheduled to travel from Kolkata to Srinagar, encountered a serious issue mid-flight when the crew identified a fuel leak, prompting an emergency landing at Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport.
The flight, identified as 6E-6961, was carrying 166 passengers and crew members. It landed safely at 4:10 pm, according to airport authorities. The landing was executed without incident, ensuring the safety of everyone on board.
Following the landing, all passengers and crew were promptly evacuated from the aircraft and relocated to the airport’s arrival hall. Authorities confirmed that no injuries occurred during the incident or evacuation process.
